The Couch Caddy - in the beginning ...
Once upon a time, many moons go, Dan and I were WebTV™ distributors. We went from home to home performing demonstrations of these devices that offer the internet through your TV set.
Things were going well and our clients soon discovered that we were also into the custom woodworking business. Many asked if we could make a box so that they could organize all the remote controls they had laying around. That got our creative juices flowing and we started the designing of what is now known as 'The Couch Caddy' ~ by azwoodman.com. |
 Shown here is the very first 'Couch Caddy' of it's kind ... one we soon learned needed to be revised. We discovered that the front was too low ... remotes were tumbling forward.
I guess back then it was the 'couch shape' we were aiming for as our 'unique' design feature. |
 We also noticed we didn't make it wide enough, as some clients wanted to store their WebTV™ remote keyboard.
Anyway, we have since tweaked it and altered it so that it is taller, wider and more functional for everyone's entertainment area. Now, by removing the front or back dividers, our Couch Caddy will accommodate a wireless remote control keyboard, a must for any WebTV user. |
A little bit about Dan...
Dan has been in the carpentry business all of his adult life. Spanning across almost every western state, he has done everything from concrete to cabinets. He attended college in Utah where he learned his drafting techniques and developed a love for woodworking. After many years of hard labor Dan finally decided to concentrate his energies on what he loves to do best - design and build small wood crafts in our home-based woodworking shop. After years of accumulation, we have finally acquired all the necessary tools to do a complete job. He mills his own lumber, calculates all the price quotes for our custom boxes, designs and builds all the products that go out of this shop. |

A little bit about Deb...
I am a self-taught free-lance web designer and graphic artist. While attending the University of Okla., I learned a lot about art and design, however, back then home computers were not even a reality. Once I got my hands on a home computer, everything changed and I finally found my niche in this world. I am the office manager for our company Arizona Specialty Woodcrafts, spending many hours each day answering e-mails, updating web pages and sending off price quotes. Once in a while I even help Dan out in the shop with puttying and sanding. I also design web sites for other people. |
